i was holding it together until I was told that you were there,
I'd been seeing you all weekend in every girl with long brown hair
and each time a car passed with an engine on the brink.
So I rode my bike across town knowing I'd likely pass you by,
I kept to a leisurely pace to afford myself adequate time
to think what to say, to think what to think.
three months have passed since the time that we last spoke
at the party where i was a mess and the bell on your bike broke.
but I'm thinking that the timings right for us to reconvene
so i pull up by your side and hope to god that you agree
and I'll ride down every street in town if theres a chance you'll be around,
sitting in the sunshine with an hour to kill,
hop up on the handlebars of my bike and I'll do my best to stay upright.
keeping your company is my kind of thrill.
I said i'd take you tot he station but I doubt that we'll get there,
we always end up stopping along the way, and I swear,
the good times find us like we've got no where to hide.
We pass an old friend at a cafe with avocado in her mouth,
she says to go check out this houseshow, follow this street a few blocks south,
its about to start but we'll make it if we ride.
and I'm thinking we take the shortcut through the quiet part of town,
theres less traffic lights to slow us up and less cars to knock us down.
but the backstreets are full of cats and we stop to meet each and every one.
by the time we reach the end the gig is well and truly done.
and I'll ride down every street in town if theres a chance you'll be around,
sitting in the sunshine with an hour to kill,
hop up on the handlebars of my bike and I'll do my best to stay upright.
keeping your company is my kind of thrill.
time it flies, the days almost done
the suns casting its orange glow onto everyone
and between your words crickets start to chirp
in just ten more hours you'll be getting up for work,
but it three days time I'll be back in town,
so bring your bike if you don't wish to share mine
and we say goodbye as street lights come on
to let us know its time we best get gone
you say its nice to see that we can still get along
and you hope next time it doesn't take quite so long.
and I'll ride down every street in town if theres a chance you'll be around,
sitting in the sunshine with an hour to kill,
hop up on the handlebars of my bike and I'll do my best to stay upright.
keeping your company is my kind of thrill.
#1 Best band. Did I dream them in to existence? Everything I've ever wanted. 11/10 tappy rifs, dazzling "woo!"s and beautifully wholesome emo lyrics. I can't get over this band. Listen every damn day. Quinton Trembath
#3 Best Band. Neato songs by some lovely humans. Ed used to give me free coffees at his cafe, but he must have got caught because that cant happen anymore. Conversational lyrics and nice guitar riffs Quinton Trembath
